Service Creek Stage Stop is located 20 miles east of Fossil, Oregon, on Highway 19 at Junction 207 on the John Day River. The area is rich in history in the center of Wheeler County, located 60 miles south of the Columbia River Gorge and 185 miles from Portland, Oregon.

The Service Creek Stage Stop Lodge

The Lodge is a 1920's boarding house, originally known as Tilly's Boarding House - one of several buildings dating back to the early 1900's.

THE PAINTED HILLS ROOM
On the ground floor there is THE PAINTED HILLS ROOM with a queen bed and lots of books and antiques to enjoy.
RIMROCK ROOM
This private room offers a beautiful view of the majestic ridge of rimrock that serves as a backdrop to the grounds of Service Creek. Perfect for the solo traveler seeking to get away from the hustle and bustle. Located on the top (second) level, this room has access to an outdoor deck with sitting areas. Accommodations include a queen size bed and separate private bathroom.
THE FISH ROOM
THE FISH ROOM with a double-bed covered with an "angler's quilt". This room has a bath inside the room.
Cowboy Room
This family favorite is sure to bring out the old west in everyone. This room captures your inner-pioneer with rustic furniture and modern touches. Located on the top (second) level. Accommodations include a queen size bed and bunk beds that include one full size bed and one twin size bed. This room can accommodate up to five people and includes a private bathroom located inside the room.
THE COOL ROOM
Located on the top (second) level. Accommodations include a queen size bed and twin bunk beds. This room can accommodate up to four people and includes a private bathroom located inside the room.
This room is perfect for families and people who just need some space.
THOMAS CONDON Room
Named in honor of Thomas Condon, the pioneer geologist, teacher, author, and clergyman who served as the first scientific investigator of fossils in the John Day Basin, this room offers guests a pastoral experience. Located on the first level, this room has private access to an outside porch with sitting areas. Accommodations include a king sized bed and separate private bathroom.
